A few years back, a winter storm knocked out power in our neighborhood for three days. No lights. No heat. Two kids asking questions I didn't have great answers to. I had flashlight apps on my phone and a half-melted candle from a birthday party. That was it.
I'm Tim Bowers. I live in the Buffalo/Toronto corridor — a region that knows a thing or two about brutal winters, ice storms, and the kind of weather that doesn't care about your plans. I'm a dad, a husband, and a regular city guy. I'm not building a bunker. I don't have a compound. I just realized that night that being unprepared wasn't a personality quirk — it was a gap I needed to close.
So I started researching. I tested gear. I figured out what actually works when things go sideways — not in the wilderness, but in a suburb. A power outage. A car breakdown on the highway in January. A hiking trail that got a lot longer than expected. The stuff that actually happens to families like mine.
